Meet the Doctors and Staff at Carolina Urology Practice

 



Scott M. Sweazy, MD

Dr. Sweazy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. He completed his medical degree and his internship and residencies in general surgery and adult and pediatric urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Sweazy was board certified by the American Board of Urology in 1993.

He is a member of the South Carolina Urologic Association, Edisto Medical Society, Southern Section of the American Urological Association, American Urological Association, Northwest Urologic Association, Western Section of Urology, Washington State Medical Association, King County Medical Society, and Kansas Medical Society. Dr. Sweazy is the recipient of several academic honors and awards including the Orr Award Candidate for Outstanding Surgical Student.

Dr. Sweazy is a frequent academic presenter.



Keith E. Brightbill, MD

Dr. Brightbill received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University where he graduated with Honors and Magna Cum Laude. He received his Medical degree from The Ohio State University, and completed both his internship in general surgery, and residency in adult and pediatric urology at the University of Tennessee.

He is a member of the American Urologic Association, the American Medical Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the South Carolina Medical Association, the South Carolina Urologic Association, and the Endourology Society. He is a frequent academic presenter.

Dr. Brightbill is trained in all minimally-invasive techniques, including laparoscopic surgery and cryoablative approaches to prostate and kidney cancer. He has participated in several basic science research studies on the prevention of prostate cancer at the molecular level. He has also received extensive training in advanced endourologic techniques for stone disease, has published articles on his experience, and has presented his research at the international level. His clinical interests include stone disease, male and female incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and oncology.
